2 dogs killed in north Charlotte house fire, CFD says

The accidental fire started on the kitchen stovetop.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two dogs died in a fire that broke out early Tuesday afternoon at a home in north Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

The fire happened at a home on Canipe Drive near Northlake Mall. Firefighters who responded to the scene were able to control the fire in 12 minutes. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. 

After an investigation, Charlotte Fire determined that it was an accidental fire that started on the stovetop in the kitchen.

The losses from the fire are estimated to be around $25,000.
