2 people killed in major crash on I-485 in Charlotte

Multiple lanes of Interstate 485 shut down as emergency crews worked to control the chaotic scene.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Most lanes of I-485 were shuttered near Rocky River Road following a crash that killed two people on Saturday, according to Medic. Lanes were shut down for hours but have since reopened.

The deadly crash happened near mile marker 36 in east Charlotte around 11 a.m.
