CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on Interstate 85 in Charlotte on Monday afternoon, according to Medic.
Three out of 4 northbound lanes of 1-85 were shut down near University City Boulevard when the crash occurred. As of 5:20 p.m., only one lane remained closed.
The whole road reopened around 5:30 p.m., according to the NC Department of Transportation.
WCNC Charlotte is working to learn more about the cause of the crash, which happened just after 3 p.m.
