CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people have been arrested after two people, including a police officer, were struck by a car in Charlotte Sunday.
The crash happened on Sunday night on South Boulevard near the intersection of Sharon Lakes Road, according to Medic.
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officer tried to stop a stolen vehicle when three people ran out of the car before placing the vehicle in park. The officer was trying to arrest one of the people when both were struck by the unoccupied vehicle.
The suspect who was struck by the vehicle was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The officer was not transported to the hospital.
The other two suspects were also taken into custody.
Police described the suspects as juveniles under the age of 18.
