5 displaced after Charlotte house fire

The fire broke out on Rollingridge Dr., Saturday afternoon.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Five people were displaced after a fire broke out in a house in southeast Charlotte on Saturday afternoon, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Fire investigators said the the blaze was caused by "improperly discarded smoking material."

Thirty Charlotte firefighters controlled the fire in 20 minutes.

The fire caused about $55,000 in damage to the home. 

There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
