CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A house fire in northwest Charlotte prompted an arrest on Tuesday.
The Charlotte Fire Department responded to the fire on Knollcrest Drive near Birkdale Drive around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Firefighters controlled the fire in 13 minutes and no injuries were reported. The American Red Cross Greater Carolinas Region is assisting the displaced residents. The estimated loss from the fire is $25,000.
Investigators determined that the fire was intentionally caused and stated a suspect was arrested in the case. The suspect's name has not been released at this time.
The fire remains under investigation. More information will be released when it is available.
