ALBEMARLE, N.C. — An employee with Atrium Health in Stanly County is accused of stealing medication from her patients.
Christian Roscoe Polson, 55, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with embezzling and diverting a controlled substance by a registrant or employee, according to court records.
Documents say Polson stole Percocet medication from prescriptions for patients. The drugs were taken from a medication distribution machine located within the facility.
Poloson was given a $10,000 bond, which she posted.
Percocet is a Schedule II controlled substance in North Carolina. The drug is an opioid-based pain reliever that can cause addiction.
WCNC Charlotte has requested further information from Atrium Health, including Polson's role at the health center.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is listed as the arresting agency.
