YORK, S.C. — A written bomb threat found at York Intermediate School prompted an evacuation on Thursday, according to the York Police Department.
Police officers did not discover any suspicious items or any evidence of an explosive after a search.
Around 10:45 a.m., a student reported a note in a girls' bathroom suggesting a potential explosive device was at the school.
The school was immediately evacuated and students were relocated to York Comprehensive High School while police searched the campus.
The York Police Department continues to investigate the threat. No arrests have been made at this time.
Chief Brian Trail thanked the York County Sheriff's Office and York County Office of Emergency Management for their help. He also thanked York School District One for their commitment to student safety.
