CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Fire Department said smoke was visible when crews arrived at the scene of a 2-alarm fire on the 11000 block Fiddlers Roof Lane.
Charlotte Fire said two families were displaced and estimated the property loss to be $155k in damages.
The fire happened early on Sunday morning and appeared to heavily damage the multiple-story townhome building near Ballantyne.
The fire department said 50 firefighters controlled the blaze in about 24 minutes and determined the fire to be accidental. According to officials, the fire started around an HVAC unit in the attic space of the building.
No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported on Sunday morning.
The fire is still under investigation.
