DALLAS, N.C. — Thousands of people in Gaston County woke up with no electricity Saturday morning, on one of the hottest days of the year to date.
Officials say a transformer blew last night in Dallas, and the town went without power overnight and through the morning.
Traffic lights at all intersections in Dallas were not working either.
Crews replaced the transformer. Dallas Police confirmed that the power, which occurred at 10 p.m. Friday night, came back on at 2 p.m. Saturday.
