Blue Cross NC allowing early prescription refills ahead of Debby

The early refill policy is in effect during the state of emergency.

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) is allowing customers to get some prescriptions filled early due to Tropical Storm Debby.

The insurance provider says this action is in effect for all of North Carolina following the governor's declaration of a state of emergency on August 5.

Early prescription refills are available through August 19, Blue Cross NC said in a release.

Early refills must be made while the state of emergency is in effect, and Blue Cross NC says the early refill policy does not apply to controlled substances - so, medications for things like severe pain, anxiety, insomnia, and ADHD.
