CHESTER, S.C. — A suspect has been arrested and charged in the death of a missing Chester woman, the Chester County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.
The body of Donna Lynn Coley, 56, was found inside an abandoned mobile home near Cradle Street, according to investigators. This is near Pinckney Street, where Coley was last seen around 3:30 a.m. on May 30. She was reported missing and the sheriff's office had previously shared her name and image with the hope someone may have seen the missing woman.
Thomas Glenn has been charged with the death of Coley. Glenn, 70, was arrested after the body was recovered Tuesday.
Sheriff Max Dorsey said Tuesday that Coley and Glenn were together the night of her disappearance. Investigators believe a confrontation occurred before her death, according to Dorsey. Investigators believe Coley was killed the night of her disappearance.
WCNC Charlotte's Tradesha Woodard spoke to neighbors who described Tuesday's heavy police presence in the area.
The Dosters have lived near Cradle Street in Chester for 35 years.
"When I moved here, I knew everybody," Mrs. Doster said. "I've always been here and I've never been scared to be here. This changed a lot."
Crime scene agents with the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are helping deputies process the scene. The Chester County Coroner's Office will perform an autopsy on Wednesday.
