CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Eight West Mecklenburg High School students were taken to the hospital for evaluation after a school bus crash in west Charlotte Tuesday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said.
Bus C629 was involved in a crash around 7:30 a.m. Medic initially said there were nine patients related to the crash, with all nine suffering minor injuries. Details on what led up to the crash haven't been released at this time.
It happened near the intersection of Tuckaseegee Road and Calton Lane.
The crash happened near several schools. Tuckaseegee Elementary School, Wilson STEM Academy and West Mecklenburg High School are all a part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district. Charter school East Voyager Academy of Charlotte is also located near Tuckaseegee Road and Calton Lane.
