CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Family and friends of 21-year-old Camryn Price - who was shot and killed in Atlanta last April - gathered in Chester County Saturday to commemorate the start of the Camryn Olivia Foundation.
“Our daughter was all about making people feel good and putting smiles on people’s faces -making them feel good on the inside and outside. Unfortunately, her life got cut short. So, we just decided to do something in honor of her and her glory and continue her legacy,” explained her parents and presidents of the foundation, Jesse & Creighton Price.
They say Camryn was contributing so much to the community, so now the foundation is a way to keep that going.
“When my sister was here, she really focused on being a mentor to other cosmetologist students and also helping them excel in their careers. So, it feels good that we - as a foundation and as board members – get to give that same thing back to the community,” said Camryn’s sister, Lajessica Price.
The foundation will provide scholarships and grants to help others start on their journey. Additionally, because Camryn was a young stylist in the community, her family says some of the funding from the foundation will also go toward making students in need feel beautiful for prom - just as Camryn did.

“I feel like she was really just getting started. She was only 21 years old but I feel like she really accomplished a lot. So, that’s really what the foundation was for to carry out her name and to continue the legacy of Camryn Olivia Price,” Lajessica continued.
