'Somebody knows where Kimberly is' | Candlelight vigil held for Morganton woman missing for 70 days

Kimberly Margaret Woodard was last seen getting into a white SUV with an unknown driver on June 29.

MORGANTON, N.C. — Dozens of people lit candles and prayed Friday night at Victory Church in Morganton as the number of days since Kimberly Woodard was last seen turned to 70.

The Morganton woman was last seen leaving her home at 4056 Sunrise Lane on June 29.

"She left home, she's going what we had thought it looked on camera to hang out with somebody," Tricia Moore, Woodard's sister said. "It looked like she was coming back but she didn't take anything with her but her little pocketbook. It's just like she vanished. We haven't seen her since."

The Burke County Sheriff's Office says Woodard got into a white SUV with an unknown driver and was wearing jeans and a white shirt.

"I know that there's somebody out there that knows something and just come and say something, say something to somebody because somebody knows something," Moore said. "Somebody was driving the vehicle that picked her up. She didn't just, the car didn't just pull up on its own. Somebody was in that car and somebody knows something. Somebody knows where Kimberly is. Somebody knows something about Kimberly. I pray that they would just come forward."

Woodard is a 39-year-old white woman with blond hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

"We haven't heard anything," Moore said. "People think they've seen her or they have leads and this and that, but nothing comes back to Kimberly."

Anyone with information about Kimberly Woodard's whereabouts is asked to contact the Burke County Sheriff's Office.
