Carowinds officially introduces Fury 325 in ribbon-cutting ceremony

ID=70441966CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carowinds held a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday morning for the world's tallest giga coaster Fury 325.

Carowinds ran its first test of the new Fury 325 roller coaster earlier this month.

The 32-passenger train climbing to the top of a 325 foot hill. The hill is followed by an 81 degree first drop and then races through a series of hills, curves and quick transitions while reaching speeds of up to 95 miles per hour. The ride lasts nearly three and one half minutes.

The Fury 325 is the world's tallest and fastest giga coaster.

Earlier Carowinds announced 2015 season pass holders will get exclusive access to the park on March 27 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and thrill seekers will be able to ride the new coaster.

The roller coaster will be open to everyone this Saturday.
