Safe Place Week youth art contest winner to have art featured on CATS buses and rail cars

“At CATS, we’re more than just transit; we’re about caring for our community, especially children and young adults facing challenges,” interim CEO Brent Cagle said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A winner has been picked for the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) annual Safe Place Week youth art contest.

The winning artwork will now be featured on CATS buses and rail cars.

The chosen art was created by a child within The Relatives Youth Crisis Center program, which is considered a Safe Place agency for Mecklenburg County kids ages 7 to 17.

CATS facilities and vehicles are also considered Safe Places, and serve as a location for youth in crisis to get connected to needed help and resources.

“At CATS, we’re more than just transit; we’re about caring for our community, especially children and young adults facing challenges,” CATS interim CEO Brent Cagle said. “Our partnership with The Relatives stands as a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with our community partners.”
