Charlotte firefighters battle house fire

Charlotte Fire investigators said the fire was accidental and involved a battery-powered lawn mower.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte firefighters battled a fire at a home in north Charlotte on Saturday.

The fire broke out around 7 a.m. on the 4100 block of Highcroft Lane.

Fire appeared to be ripping through an attached garage at the two-story home when firefighters arrived.

The fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes. 

There were no reported injuries.

Charlotte Fire investigators said the fire was accidental and involved a battery-powered lawn mower. 

Two adults were displaced. 

The fire caused about $22,000 in damages to the home.
