CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte man bought a $20 scratch-off ticket at his own store and won a $2 million, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Praful Shah bought his ticket from Derita BP Amoco on West Sugar Creek Road in Charlotte, a store he owns.
Shah chose to take the cash in a lump sum of $1.2 million. After required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $858,006.
Since Shah won the last $2 million top prize, the lottery will begin the process of ending that scratch-off game.
