CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Part of Milton Road in east Charlotte was shut down on Saturday morning as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigates a shooting.
One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.
WCNC Charlotte's crew on the scene noted several police cars in the area, which is close the Oak Woods neighborhood. Crime scene tape surrounded a spot where clothes were scattered in the road.
A neighbor said he heard multiple loud gunshots around 6 a.m.
That part of the road, which is near The Plaza, reopened around 9 am.
