Charlotte police officer hurt after driver crashes into patrol car

The crash happened around 11 a.m. on Sunday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A police officer was sent to the hospital with injuries after a driver crashed into a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department patrol car on Sunday morning. 

The crash happened around 11 a.m. on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near South Brevard Street. 

The officer's injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the police department.
