Thanksgiving meals prepared for families at Charlotte Rescue Mission

Volunteers came together to make a difference on Thanksgiving Day.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Rescue Mission is processing thousands of Thanksgiving meals for families in the Queen City.

The organization said it delivered more than 6,000 food boxes, serving more than 24,000 people in 2022. This year is not much different: volunteers coming together to make a difference on Thanksgiving Day.

You can stream WCNC Charlotte on Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV, just download the free app.

But the organization didn't do it alone, thanks to Thanksgiving food box donations from people willing to make a difference.

The Thanksgiving Food box is a complete holiday meal for a family of four, the organization said.

“We want our recipients to look back at Thanksgiving of 2023 being so special because other people cared about me. That’s what this is all about. Helping a family create memories around their own Thanksgiving table,” Tony Marciano, President and CEO of Charlotte Rescue Mission, said.
