Car runs red light, hits Charlotte school bus

A driver ran a red light before hitting a school bus, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — No students were injured Monday morning when a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools bus was involved in a crash.

Bus 758 was carrying students for University Meadows Elementary School when it was struck by another vehicle, according to CMS. The other vehicle ran the red light at North Tryon Street and University City Blvd, according to the school district.

At the time, the bus was only carrying one student. That student was not injured.

One other person was transported to the Atrium Health University City hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
