4-year-old drowns in York County pool near apartment

Rose Blankenship was found dead on Saturday.

CLOVER, S.C. — A child died in a pool after going missing, the York County Coroner said on Tuesday.

Rose Blankenship, 4, went missing from her Clover apartment on Saturday. She was later found dead in a nearby pool. 

No further information has been released. Officials did not say how far away the pool that Blankenship drowned in is from her apartment. Officials did not say how long Blakenship was missing before she was found.

The York County Coroner's Office said an autopsy will be conducted. The York County Sheriff's Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and coroner's office will further investigate this incident.
