CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own.
On Saturday, Charlotte police announced that retired CMPD K-9 Baca had passed away. Baca served with CMPD from 2012 to 2018 as a dual-purpose narcotics and patrol dog.
During his tenure with the department, Baca and his handler, Officer Acker-Estes, worked together to arrest countless violent criminals and locate narcotics.
Baca retired in 2018 and spent his hard-earned retirement relaxing at home with his family and other furry friends.
Baca will surely be missed. Rest in peace, sweet lad.
