MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Mecklenburg County Commissioner-Elect Yvette Ingram was arrested for DWI at the beginning of the month, according to records from the Belmont Police Department.
Ingram was arrested on May 1 for driving while impaired and having an open container in the vehicle. She was released the following day without bond.
The Mecklenburg County Democrat defeated incumbent Pat Cotham in the March primary to earn the third at-large spot on the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners.
Ingram will be sworn in later this year.
