More people looking for government jobs

Job hunting is not easy these days, and many people are looking for a certain thing while choosing their next gig.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Government jobs are trending, and, according to Google Trends, people searching for government employment has reached the highest levels in five years.

And, while it may not be their dream role, it does offer some big benefits.

Hiring platform Handshake reports a growing number of people are looking for stability.

In fact, nearly 77% of college seniors said stability is their No. 1 priority when job searching.

And government jobs tend to offer just that.

Another "plus" to government jobs is good benefits. Things like pensions, tuition assistance and student loan forgiveness have more and more people going the government route.
