CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Mecklenburg County residents who are summoned for jury duty now have a faster way to respond to the summons or request a deferral.
Through the Jury Manager System residents can:
- look up a lost juror number and obtain reporting instructions;
- view current reporting status or the status of a request for deferral or excusal;
- access jury service history;
- verify or update personal data;
- request special assistance and more.
The online system went live on April 1. Since then, the county says about 1,500 requests for deferral and excusal have been submitted and processed via the website.
