I-77 N. lanes back open after Saturday morning crash in Charlotte

The crash happened just before 4 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The right three lanes of I-77 near the West Woodlawn Road exit closed due to a car crash on Saturday, Oct. 21, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation

NCDOT says all three northbound lanes were closed at Exit 6-A. The accident happened just before 4 a.m. near Charlotte mile marker 6.

The lanes reopened by 8 a.m., according to the NCDOT. 

According to Medic, one person was taken to the hospital for serious injuries. 

WCNC Charlotte was at the scene early Saturday morning and reached out, through email, to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for more information.
