Man shot and killed in Concord, police say

The shooting happened near the intersection of American Avenue NE and Madison Avenue NE on Sunday night.

CONCORD, N.C. — An investigation is underway after a man was found shot dead in Concord.

The shooting happened on Sunday, Jan. 28 around 9 p.m. of near the intersection of American Avenue NE and Madison Avenue NE, according to the Concord Police Department.

Jermaine Forrest, 33, was found lying with a gunshot wound. Forrest was pronounced dead at the scene.

No information was released on any suspects involved. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Concord Police Department at (704) 920-5000 or Cabarrus County Crime Stoppers at (704) 932-7463.
