CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a deadly crash on Monday night.
The crash happened on The Plaza near East 36th Street around 10 p.m. CMPD put an alert out about the crash around 11 p.m.
A pedestrian was hit by a car, CMPD confirmed, and died at the scene due to their injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene.
CMPD has not said if any charges are pending from the crash.
The Plaza is closed between Herrin Avenue and East 36th Street, according to CMPD. Police advise motorists to seek an alternate route.
