MONROE, N.C. — One person is dead and at least one more is in the hospital following a crash involving a motorcycle in Monroe Saturday night, according to Union County Emergency Communications.
The Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department responded to multiple calls around 5:50 p.m. in front of the Union Exchange on New Town Road where they found a motorcycle and another car involved in the crash.
One person died at the scene and at least one person was airlifted to a nearby hospital, officials said.
Two people were on the motorcycle at the time of the crash, according to officials. It is unknown how many people were in the other vehicle.
