CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting west Charlotte Thursday evening led officers on a chase that ended when he drove them to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police headquarters in Uptown, detectives said.

Tate's vehicle was spotted by CMPD officers in southwest Charlotte early Friday morning. When officers attempted to stop Tate, he allegedly refused to pull over and led officers on a chase that ended when Tate drove to CMPD headquarters in Uptown. He was arrested without further incident.

Tate is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
