Police investigating man's death after he was found unresponsive

Police have not determined the man's cause of death.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) is investigating a death after a man was found unresponsive on Thursday in west Charlotte.

Officers responded to West Boulevard near Ridge Avenue just before 6:30 p.m. for a welfare check. Police found him unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not released the identity of the deceased or any details regarding potential circumstances surrounding the incident.
