There have been several disturbing cases of flashers in Charlotte recently.
Just this week, there were two cases of someone exposing themselves in a public area. It happened to one girl outside a grocery store and another victim outside a school.
An 8 year-old girl was outside during recess at Park Road Montessori School when the crime happened, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. The child told a teacher who called police. Parents were also notified, according to the district.
Then two days later, a similar crime outside a grocery store on the 4400 block of Central Avenue.
NBC Charlotte talked to a shopper at that store who said she was targeted by a flasher in the same parking lot two years ago.
“When I saw him he was touching himself,” she said.
This week, there’s a similar report of a man exposing himself to a 14 year-old girl outside the grocery store.
“Maybe he's sick,” said the shopper.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department confirms John Miller Jr. was arrested for indecent exposure at the location back in 2015. However, at this point, they say no one has been charged in the latest case.
“I was scared because this is a public place,” said the shopper.Outside the grocery store, employees are on alert.
“Some people do that to my daughter, I'm going to be mad,” said one employee nearby.
Police are investigating whether the case at the school and the grocery store are related.
