Double-homicide investigation underway after two people found dead in Salisbury

Police said a male suspect ran away from the scene and has not been caught.

SALISBURY, N.C. — Two people were found dead with gunshot wounds in Salisbury on Sunday morning, according to the Salisbury Police Department. 

The deadly shooting happened on 3rd Street in Salisbury around 8:30 a.m.

Police said a male suspect ran away from the scene and has not been caught. 

"We are actively working to understand the details of this tragic event," a department spokesperson said. "We urge any community members with potential information to come forward."
