'Our hearts go out' | A Duke Energy lineworker died while on duty, company confirms

It happened Wednesday on Wandering Creek Drive.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Duke Energy has confirmed that one of its workers was killed on the job in northwest Charlotte. 

It happened Wednesday on Wandering Creek Drive, not far from Pleasant Grove Road.

Details about what happened are limited, though Duke Energy confirmed the employee was a lineworker. The man was 25 years old, according to CMPD.

"Our hearts go out to our teammate’s family and fellow coworkers," Duke Energy said in a statement. "We are currently investigating the incident to learn more and ask for privacy for the family at this time."
