SALISBURY, N.C. — Duke Energy said a scheduled power outage is planned in areas of downtown Salisbury on Saturday.
The outage is expected to impact about 1,050 customers, mainly between Catawba College and Livingstone College.
The outage will also occur along West Innes Street and Statesville Boulevard to Salisbury Motor Co.
Power will be out in the area, which is mostly occupied by businesses, from around 8 a.m. until about 5 p.m.
It is also expected to impact traffic signals.
During the outage, Duke Energy will replace some transmission infrastructure. The energy company says the outage will be required for workers to safely make the needed fixes.
Duke Energy said it has communicated the outage to the affected customers. Based on the amount of work to be performed, we believe it will last until approximately 5:00 p.m.
