CHARLOTTE, N.C. — American Eagle Flight 5189 from South Bend, Indiana to Charlotte Douglas International Airport had declared an emergency before landing safely, according to flight tracking data.
At 1:50 p.m., the plane landed safely.
Flight tracking data showed the plane had circled over Gaston County ahead of attempting a landing back at the airport.
The Charlotte Fire Department and other emergency personnel had staged at the airport to assist, had they been needed.
