Where you can find open emergency shelters in western NC

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — UPDATE: This article was updated to reflect to current open emergency shelters, according to North Carolina Emergency Management. The amount of open emergency shelters may be subject to change.

Counties across western North Carolina have opened emergency shelters after Helene barreled through the Carolinas Friday.

Many residents across western North Carolina faced high levels of flooding, leaving cars and homes in deep waters from the storm.
