CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Shake Shack sign sits on top of the first restaurant location in the Carolinas and Charlotteans are freaking out.
For those who aren’t familiar, Shake Shack serves up homemade “ShackBurgers” and is famous for its crinkle-cut fries and milkshakes.
Here are 10 things you need to know about the first Shake Shack in the Carolinas:
- Shake Shack will be located in south Charlotte in the Park Road Shopping Center. Use this address for GPS: 1605 East Woodlawn Road, Charlotte, NC 28209
- While it appears construction is nearing completion, no grand opening date has been set. We know it will be this spring, but we’re not sure of the exact date.
- If you want to get your first taste of a ShackBurger or ‘Shroom Burger, you won’t have to wait until the grand opening! The restaurant is hosting a pop-up event at Lenny Boy Brewing Co on S Tryon Street on Saturday, April 7 from 5-9 p.m. Tickets are $20 each. For details on how to purchase, click here
- Shake Shack is collaborating with local businesses for its Charlotte location. Shake Shack has partnered with 704 Shop for merchandise and Suarez Bakery. “Community is at the core of Shake Shack, and in each new locale, our team develops deep ties to its neighbors and neighborhood partners,” said Edwin Bragg, VP of Marketing at Shake Shack. “We’re so proud to work with local faves Suarez Bakery and 704 Shop in our new home of Charlotte.” Look for Suarez desserts to be offered on the Charlotte menu.
- Like the neighboring Burtons Grill & Bar, there will be outdoor seating at Shack Shack. How many tables? That hasn’t been announced yet.
- Charlotteans love their dogs so they will be happy to know Shake Shack does too! Shake Shack Charlotte will sell two different kind of biscuits just for dogs.
- Yes, Shake Shack Charlotte will serve beer and wines. There will be the house Shack red and house Shack white. They will also serve ShackMeister® Ale, which is golden color, has a bright citrus aroma, with a slight bitterness and bready malt flavor. They will also thoughtfully select local brews tailored to the Charlotte location.
- The menu is pretty standard across all Shack Shack locations, so if you love something particular on the menu, it will likely be at the Charlotte location.
- Did you know that Shake Shack started as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan? The cart was very successful and they had Shack fans lined up daily for three summers. A nod to Madison Square will be incorporation in the Charlotte décor.
- In addition to their food, Shake Shake is also best known for their shakes. Check out their hand-spun vanilla, chocolate, caramel, black & white, strawberry, peanut butter or coffee Fair Shake.
