Families fill Bank of America Stadium for annual All Pro Dad event with Dave Canales

This year’s All Pro Dad event offered a unique opportunity for fathers and their children to bond.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers helped bring families together just in time for the holiday season. The Queen City along with Bank of America Stadium hosted this year’s All Pro Dad event on Saturday.

This year’s event offered a unique opportunity for fathers and their children to bond.

WCNC Charlotte’s Myles Harris spoke with some dads and got to hear from Panthers head coach Dave Canales at the stadium.

Canales, who is the father of four, said anyone can be an "all pro dad."

"That's kind of been my heart is, with four kids, with my wife, is just to be, who is this person now? Because, we're all changing all the time and it requires a lot of effort, a lot of energy and intentionality to grow with our families. So that's my encouragement, is to do that and to just pour yourself into it,” Canales said.

Another father, Zakee Cook, brought along his two kids to the event.

"It's also a good opportunity to show my boys what community looks like,” Cook said.

From music to games, the kids got to create all sorts of memories with “Dad”.

He said, to be an all pro dad means to "be a good dad for my children. Show them what their future could be like if they work hard.”

When asked if their dad is an "all pro dad," the kids' resounding answer was "yes!".
