Fire burns northeast Charlotte home

The fire broke out on Horizon Circle, Sunday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters tackled a house fire in northeast Charlotte on Sunday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

The fire broke out at a duplex on the 4800 block of Horizon Circle. Smoke was coming out of the home when crews arrived.

Investigators said the fire started in the living room of one of the units, but the cause could not be determined. They noted severe hoarding conditions inside the unit. 

About 30 firefighters controlled the flames in 14 minutes. No injuries were reported, but one person was displaced. 

The fire is under investigation. It ended up causing about $90,000 in losses.
