CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A fire in south Charlotte left two firefighters injured on Sunday.
The two-alarm fire happened at an apartment complex on Hedley Way on Sunday around 2 p.m., according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to control the fire in one hour. Nobody at the home was injured but two firefighters suffered minor injuries in the fire, according to the department. They were treated on the scene and did not have to be taken to the hospital.
Charlotte Fire Department told WCNC Charlotte on Monday the fire was caused by an unattended candle left close to a combustible material. CFD estimates the fire caused $1 million in damages.
