CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Local police continue their efforts to raise money for the families of the four officers killed in an east Charlotte shooting last month.
Three law enforcement officers serving on a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and one Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer were killed on April 29 after being met with “active gunfire” from a suspect at an east Charlotte home. A total of nine law enforcement officers were hurt, including three CMPD officers, a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force member, and one CMPD who suffered a broken foot during the incident.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police recently started selling memorial honor bracelets bearing the names of Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas Weeks, Task Force Officers Sam Poloche and Alden Elliot and CMPD Officer Joshua Eyer.

So far, the FOP has raised roughly $15,000 by selling these bracelets. Proceeds will go to the loved ones of those who died.
"To make sure that they don't have to worry about anything, to make sure that their bills are paid, to make sure that their kids' college can be funded or that the money is there and they don't have to worry where their next paycheck is coming from," FOP President Daniel Redford said.
The bracelets are for sale on the FOP's website. Order yours here.
