Free fares for all CATS transit services on Election Day

Riders will not have to pay fares for public transit services on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Area Transit System announced that all transit services will be fare-free for Election Day on Tuesday,  Nov. 7. 

For the latest breaking news, weather and traffic alerts, download the WCNC Charlotte mobile app and enable push notifications.

This includes all bus transit, the LYNX Blue Line, the CityLYNX Gold Line and paratransit services.

The goal is to provide easier and more equitable access to polling locations for voters.

Transit riders can download the CATS-Pass app, allowing them to plan their trip to the polls and track their rides in real time.
