GASTONIA, N.C. — The Gastonia Police Department said a deadly pedestrian-involved crash shut down part of a major road Saturday evening.
Officers said it happened along North Chester Street, also known as North US-321, just north of the intersection with Bulb Avenue and Tulip Drive. A stretch of the road from that intersection up to C. Grier Beam Boulevard had to be shut down for an extended period as the department investigated what happened.
No further details were immediately available. Gastonia Police provided a photo of the scene, which showed several patrol cars along the roadway.
