GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- A suspect has been arrested following a police chase that ended in a crash in Gaston County Thursday night.
The suspect, Detevin Butts, was taken to jail. He will be in court Friday afternoon to face more than a dozen charges. Butts' bond was set at $168,000.
Highway patrol said the chase started on Cox Road when the 22-year-old did not pull over for speeding.
Troopers tell NBC Charlotte Butts was going more than 100 miles per hour before his car crashed into a home near the corner of Ida Street and Ozark Avenue in Gastonia.
Highway patrol said a man was in the living room, and a woman was taking a shower at the time of the crash. They were taken to the hospital to be checked out. Both are deaf.
The living room, kitchen and dining area suffered significant damage. There were also items scattered all over the lawn.
Butts already had 11 warrants out for his arrest.
