GASTONIA, N.C. — A family is holding onto hope as the search for 63-year-old Tyrone Krank continues.
His sister Tammy Thomas said it's a mystery she can't seem to solve.
"It's getting cold out and he hasn't taken his medicine, it's the worst feeling in the world," said Thomas.
WCNC Charlotte spoke to his family and community, now two weeks since he went missing. Each day that goes by, his loved ones grow more concerned.
His neighbor Patricia Scott is now on high alert.
"The door was open, his cell phone was in the house and the TV was on," she said.
Krank's sister reported him missing on Oct. 8 after waiting for hours for him to return home.
Scott said their last hope was a camera that hangs over the apartments, but to their surprise, the camera doesn't work.
"I'm mad and angry because they got that up there like it works and that would have been the key right there," Scott said.
His sister continues to stop by his home, only to be met with his absence.
"It's hard on the family, especially his sister," Scott said. "I cannot imagine what she is going through."
As the family searches for peace, Scott is continuing to search for answers.
She said they will stop at nothing to find the truth, it's the only thing that will set his sister free.
"I'm trying to hang on but I'm torn," said Thomas.
The Gastonia Police Department said they are also continuing to search for Krank, and are utilizing dogs and other techniques to find him. Officials said he uses a cane and has cognitive impairments.
Anyone with information on his location is asked to contact the Gastonia Police Department.
