WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — A threat made to an elementary school is being investigated by authorities.
The threat was made to Hardin Park Elementary School in Boone after school hours on Wednesday, according to the Watauga County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office is investigating the threat along with Watauga County Schools personnel. The school district has not commented on the matter.
Investigators have not yet located the source of the threat.
There will be an increased law enforcement presence at the school on Thursday in response to the threat.
